Crafts For Charities
Crafters are some of the most generous people I know. Knitting and crocheting crafts for charities is quick, easy and fun! Sometimes it may be hard to get started knitting or crocheting donations for charity. Not sure what crafts to make or who to help with donations of your knitted or crocheted gifts?
The best places to start looking for charities needing crafted items will surprise you. I always start with the yarn company web sites myself. Here are three great sites to find more about crafts for charities.
1. Lion Brand Yarns web site is my favorite of all of them. In the community area, you'll find their Charity Connection, with free charity patterns, a charity search area to help you find a charity near you that needs donations.
2. Red Heart Yarn also has a great BIG heart for crafts for charity. Look in the Community section of the home page for some suggested charities that could use your lovingly crafted donations. Don't miss the Free Patterns section for lots of great free patterns, like hats, scarves, shawls etc. but be sure to follow the instructions provided by your chosen charity, if any. I love how you can easily search their craft patterns five different ways.
3. BernatCares is Bernat's dedicated site for crafts for charity. They have knit or crochet alongs, a very nice charity search and a community for charity knitters and crocheters. Nice, very nice site.
